Product description
This book It is not hidden that among the first things that a person who has gained some knowledge and has risen to seek it should focus on is the biography of the Messenger of Allah, and to care for it collectively and in reading, narration, and understanding. And how could it not be; and the biography is the cornerstone upon which all Islamic history is based, and the entry point to it, in addition to its great necessity in studying tafsir, hadith, jurisprudence, and other sciences of Islam. And for that reason, I wanted this book to be an introduction for researchers and students of knowledge in the general concept of the history of documenting the Prophet's biography, the methods of scholars in classifying it, the sources referred to in knowing its details, events, and incidents, and a guide to the individual books written on the Prophet's biography, and to know which are printed, manuscript, or lost. It was said long ago: Knowing the books is half of knowledge. The author (1974-2013) Egyptian researcher and investigator, worked as a researcher at the Manuscripts Center at the Library of Alexandria. Among his works: "Dictionary of what has been printed of the works of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, with an introduction on history to publish the heritage of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah"; "Riyadh al-Azhār in the meanings of legal words, supplications, and remembrances." And among his investigations: "The certainty of prophethood by reason and transmission, miracles, and karamat, by Ibn Taymiyyah"; "A collection on the science of criticism and evaluation, conditions for writing history and biographies, by ten scholars including Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Qarafi, Ibn Hajar, Al-‘Ayni, and others"; "Kitab Shanaq fi al-Sumum wa al-Tiryaq." May Allah have mercy on him, he died on March 24, 2013.
