Because research in the terminology is a research in the core of knowledge; as research in the methodology of studying terminology is a research in one of the most precise aspects of knowledge; that is, in the methodology of studying the concepts that form the structure of knowledge. From here, the question of "terminology in Islamic sciences" appears as one of the most important and difficult research questions today. What makes it more difficult is the novelty of this type of research, and the lack of prior theoretical framing in the Islamic scientific heritage. Since the early stages of the emergence of Islamic sciences; and the sciences revolving around them; scholars established the terminological basis for the sciences they worked on, and they had distinguished perspectives in this regard; but those bases and perspectives did not form an integrated theoretical formulation, nor were they placed within an epistemological system that enables precise and comprehensive identification of its features. In recent decades of the last century, interest in the methodology within the Islamic scientific heritage became a focus for many thinkers, who uncovered the features of this methodology and its mechanisms in many branches of Islamic sciences, especially Usul al-Fiqh and Kalam; which indicates the rooted methodological perspective in these sciences. However, their interest was primarily, and often, focused on what relates to the methods of inference, while the exploration of the methodologies of studying terminology in those sciences and others remained hidden until recent studies emerged, highlighting the extent of terminological study in the Islamic scientific heritage, and the importance of terminology in understanding the texts of this heritage, as well as the methodology (or methodologies) capable of studying this terminology. That methodology was applied to the terms of some sciences, including the Islamic sciences, and then to the terms of the texts that establish those sciences.
