The spread of Islamic charitable associations at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century AD had a positive impact on reviving and spreading Arab heritage. The development of the revival movement was further enhanced by the establishment of committees for authorship, publishing, and translation, in addition to the founding of institutes for Eastern languages, the most famous of which are the School of Eastern Languages in London, Paris, and Berlin. The Orientalist movement also focused on establishing libraries and manuscript centers. All these positive factors contributed to reviving the Arab Islamic heritage movement, especially in connection with the West. This, in turn, was in favor of the development and flourishing of literature, both poetry and prose, in the modern era. During this period, poetry developed strongly and with great momentum, marking a significant leap that took it into a broad and expansive world. Its directions and schools diversified, and some poets emerged with distinguished contributions, becoming pioneers of the poetic movement at that time. As with poetry, prose also saw development during this period, with a number of writers standing out in the field of literature in a wonderful and distinctive way. Their names have remained through generations as pioneers who gave Arabic prose a distinctive character during that time. That character took on the traits of renewal and modernization. Based on dedicating what preserves these creative works in the field of authorship and to keep the reader informed about them, this book "Giants of Arabic Literature" comes, which the author attempts to use to highlight the works of some of the pioneers of modern Arabic literature. The selection of these writers is not intended to diminish other Arab writers, but rather to clarify the symbol of the development of literature, from poetry and prose to stories and novels, as arts of literature, so that it becomes a vast oasis filled with the masterpieces of creative Arab thought.
