The author took the topic of trade as an introduction to the emergence of Islam to attack it and to doubt the sources of Islamic history. The reason for choosing this book for translation was that it had spread among students in Western universities as a main course in history departments, despite containing opinions that contradict documented historical and archaeological facts.
