Orientalism is ongoing dominance

Product description
It seems that the critical trend of Western Orientalism is common among Arab intellectuals in the modern era, but few Western thinkers and writers have criticized the Orientalist view of the Arab world and the general Western superiority complex towards the East, especially during the colonial era, particularly since Orientalism was aimed from the beginning at creating a new generation of researchers submissive to colonial thought, as a new book states. The book by the well-known American historian and researcher Peter Gran, titled "Orientalism: Ongoing Dominance... Anglo-American Historians and Modern Egypt," discusses Egypt as a subject of academic studies and a field of colonial wars starting with the Crusades, passing through the French campaign and British occupation, then the era of American dominance. This book, which was celebrated by Egyptian intellectuals—at two intellectual meetings held weeks ago at the National Center for Translation and the Sennari House at Cairo, affiliated with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina—on the occasion of the recent Arabic edition published by the National Center, was translated by writer Sahar Tawfiq and reviewed by Dr. Asim Al-Dasouki. It is considered a new and different contribution to the study of Anglo-American historical writings that address modern Egypt, focusing on the American aspect, which, as the author says, has not yet developed in research.
