Product description
The topic of "Al-Tashbih" (Anthropomorphism) has been one of the most important subjects that represented a core point of theological disagreement throughout Islamic history, which in one way or another marked the boundaries between different sects, schools, and orientations. Despite the many writings on this subject within the Islamic sphere, most of these writings were based on the principle of defense or attack, rather than attempting to provide a comprehensive historical background of the origin of this disagreement and the various methods and approaches Muslims used to address it. This book offers a serious and genuine attempt to present such a comprehensive framework, focusing on "Hadith of Attributes," the general orientation known as Ahl al-Hadith or Athari, and how they dealt with these texts, as well as the developments that occurred in this approach over time, including the various debates they engaged in with theologians from all directions, especially the Mu'tazila and Ash'aris. In addition to historical and comparative research and extensive source analysis, the author also employed literary and rhetorical analysis methods in some of the studies to analyze the structure of some of the texts of Hadith of Attributes. It is an excellent historical and critical effort that will enrich the specialized theological library and contribute to the development of studies in this field from multiple perspectives.
