Represents Ibn Khaldun a pioneering foundational stage in the construction of Islamic sociology, as he is a distinctive knowledge system from others in characteristics and perspectives. His famous introduction was one of the most important references of Islamic sociology old and new. This study, issued within the series "Builders of Islamic Civilization" published by the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies, and in its Arabic version by Namaa Center, provides a brief overview of Ibn Khaldun's life and scientific contributions, focusing on explaining his theory of the rise and fall of civilizations, then presents Ibn Khaldun as a promising source for concepts and theoretical approaches through which many social phenomena that directly relate to his contributions can be studied. The study is part of the author's contributions to producing an alternative discourse in the human sciences to resist their centrism around the European experience and the scientific heritage produced by Western thinkers, where he attempts to apply what he previously discussed about "localizing" social sciences in non-Western countries.
