Precision upon precision, Shakespeare

The events of the play take place in Vienna (the hall of judgment in the Duke's palace in Vienna). Esclous and some advisors sit around a table topped by the Duke's seat. Two armed guards with spears stand at the entrance of the hall. The Duke: Esclous Esclous: My Lord The Duke: I will not try to explain to you the principles of governance, or that would be an assertion from me, for I know that your work in this field exceeds the limits of what I can advise you. Therefore, you only need to match your competence with your position and start working, for we do not recall that anyone has benefited as you have in art and practice, and experience with the nature of our people, or with the constitution of our city, or with the requirements of public justice. And here is our assignment, which we will not allow you to evade. Let someone go now to summon Angelo to attend.
