The matter happened after watching the film "Goodbye Dragon Inn" by the Taiwanese director Kai Ming Liang. This captivating and enchanting film, strange and different, made me interested and eager to watch other films by Kai. At that moment, I realized that I was in front of a talented filmmaker with his own vision and unique aesthetics. I wanted to learn, through reading, more about his personality and worlds, about his works and ideas, which would enrich my knowledge of him. Through my search on the internet, I came across the website or blog The Arts of Slow Cinema, supervised and edited by the German researcher Nadin Mai (born 1988). On this site, I found rich and very useful material, not only about Kai Ming Liang but also about slow cinema and its directors. Through this site, I learned many new and serious ideas and concepts related to slow films. I saw that I should translate this knowledge to the Arab reader interested in cinema, so they can discover, like me, other important, illuminating, and influential aspects of filmmaking. For this purpose, I selected certain articles and interviews with directors that I believe shed light on and clarify essential aspects of this trend (slow film) that deserves study and contemplation.
