Product description
A Saudi realistic novel from Saudi society before the era of current openness (the era of Salman) and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who achieved equality and justice between genders in rights and duties and gave women their rights after the dominance of inherited social customs. The events of the novel revolve around a girl named Azza who graduated from university and married a young man named Badr out of conviction. She was affected by tribal racism, as she belonged to a respected tribe in society, while he was from a lower-class tribe. The marriage was successful and produced a boy and a girl. After 19 years of marriage, their life suddenly turned upside down, and a flood of problems and complex issues began between them. The peaceful home turned into hell due to the appearance of a third party, a non-Saudi woman, who became a second wife. Azza, the first wife, lived in a whirlwind of storms and setbacks, entering the maze of courts and judges who did not recognize women's rights at that time, as there was no proof of her rights to the house she built with him or custody of the children. The man was the dominant figure then. She endured a futile psychological and social suffering, with difficult negative effects on the children, Hams and Musab. Azza managed to implement her rights herself after communicating with lawyers, but society and the husband's family oppressed her in support of the man (their son). The novel ends with separation and the start of a new life in a merciless society. Azza achieved victories that society, which does not recognize women's rights or their status, was not accustomed to. She was able to establish respect and claim her rights through the law and realize her ambitions.
