The wars of apostasy were not passing wars that swept through the Arabian Peninsula after the death of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, but they were a natural extension of the role of the hypocrites in the prophetic era, which the Holy Quran gave a large space to talk about them, expose their intentions, and reveal their true nature. These hypocrites stood alongside the idolaters and Jews and conspired against Islam and its people with all means of treachery, cunning, and deception. All of them united in the Battle of the Trench, but Allah thwarted their efforts and nullified their plot. Then the Muslims purified Hejaz from the Jews after Khaybar, and the idolaters were broken in Mecca after its conquest with a great defeat, and its people embraced Islam. The events of the wars of apostasy revealed the true leadership personality of Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه, with which he was able to establish the foundations of the Islamic state and restore its customary prestige.
