As of January 1, 2018, Liqui Moly became part of the Würth Group, which purchased the remaining shares from the former majority owner and CEO Ernst Prost. From 2018 to 2022, Günter Hermeyer was the second managing director alongside the long-time managing director Ernst Prost. Prost retired in February 2022 on his fifty-sixth birthday. Günter Hermeyer then held the position of sole managing director of Liqui Moly until 2022. The company's long-time commercial director, Olli Weller, became the second managing director of the group at the beginning of 2023.
