Uses:

• Used in the treatment of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) associated with patients with diabetes
• In case of exposure to insulin shock, where blood sugar drops due to using insulin without eating enough food
• Used as a source of carbohydrate calories, sometimes indicated for treating hyperkalemia (high blood potassium level)

How to Use:

Given by intravenous injection and dosage as directed by the physician

Warnings and Precautions

• Diabetes
• Dehydration
• If you suffer from malnutrition
• If you have any type of glucose metabolism impairment
• If you have difficulty urinating
• Kidney problems
• If you recently suffered from a brain injury

Possible Side Effects

• Skin rash
• Hives
• Red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin
• Chest or throat tightness
• Difficulty breathing, swallowing, or talking
