Uses:

• Dextrose and Sodium Chloride Injection is used as a source of water, electrolytes, and calories

How to Use:

• As directed by the doctor. The dose depends on the age, weight, and clinical status of the patient in addition to laboratory determinations

Contraindications:

• Do not use solutions containing dextrose in patients with known allergy to corn or corn products

Warnings and Precautions

• Must be used with extreme caution, in any case, in patients with congestive heart failure and severe renal impairment, and in clinical conditions where edema with sodium retention exists
• Intravenous administration of Dextrose and Sodium Chloride Injection can cause fluid and/or solute overload, leading to dilution of serum electrolyte concentrations, overhydration, congested states, or pulmonary edema
• Excessive administration of Dextrose and Sodium Chloride Injection may lead to significant hypokalemia in patients with impaired renal function
• Administration of Dextrose and Sodium Chloride Injection may lead to sodium retention

Possible Side Effects

• Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience throat tightness, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing.
• Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching on the face or body
