Product description
The second part of the writer Ahlam Mosteghanemi, after "Memory of the Body". The author, the heroine of the novel, is seeking to write a new book. She meets a journalist and a love story develops between them. Then the writer discovers that her beloved is obsessed with "Khaled bin Tobal", the hero of her first novel, the painter who lost an arm in the Liberation War, and signs his articles with his name. She borrows a book from his library, impressed by the footnotes written by her reader in handwriting alongside the original text. Like "Memory of the Body", in "Fawda Al-Hawas" (Sensory Chaos), the love story involves three protagonists, not two. By coincidence, in the last meeting between the lovers, when Khaled tells her he does not want to continue together, she learns that the house he lives in and the library inside it do not belong to him but to Abdul Haq, his friend and journalist who fled from Islamists who threatened to kill him. Thus, the author discovers that she is repeating the same scenario as "Memory of the Body". The one she loves is not Khaled but his friend Abdul Haq. As usual, love misses the target.
