Little Women

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott ... in 19th century New England, while the American Civil War rages, the four March sisters begin a long pilgrimage. Their father has lost his fortune, so they suffer from financial hardship, and they bear a heavy responsibility that sometimes overwhelms them. Each of them has her unique character, dreams, and close enemy. Meg, the beautiful dove fond of luxury, despises poverty. Jo, like a strong-willed, stubborn seagull, can sometimes be blinded by anger. Beth resembles a gentle sandpiper, but shyness constrains her. As for Amy, the elegant tomboy, she is criticized for vanity and selfishness. The young girls chose to follow the righteous path, carrying their burdens with strong determination. Amidst hardships and temptations, love strengthens them. Their father's teachings guide them, despite his joining the army as a soldier. Their mother's sun shines in the sky of their lives, planting good seeds in their hearts and minds that will bear fruit one day.
