Poets from Al-Rass author: Fahd Al-Manea Al-Rashid, new edition, fourth edition, white paper cover, 400 pages
Book overview: The book discusses in some detail the poets of a precious part of our country, which is the Al-Rass province. It describes their lives and translates them accurately and concisely, providing a useful summary of their production, which often reflects their pains, hopes, and experiences in life. The poets covered in the book number forty poets and poetesses, and they are the most famous poets of this province. Not all of them are in the Nabati poetry field. The book exceeds four hundred pages and includes an extensive introduction about the importance of Nabati poetry, its history, and its role in the literary life of nations and peoples. It also contains a comprehensive definition of the city of Al-Rass and depicts its history both old and new. The author exerted effort that deserves praise and recognition from every citizen keen on raising the literary morale of our country, reviving its heritage, and caring for it.
In the first and second editions of the book, it was titled "Poets of Al-Rass Nabati," but in later editions, the title changed to "Poets from Al-Rass." In my opinion, this change has implications and obligations, including that it should encompass poets from Al-Rass in Modern Standard Arabic, among whom are many, such as Dr. Ibrahim Al-Awaji, Muhammad Al-Amir Al-Rumaih, Muhammad Al-Musaytir, Saleh Hamad Al-Malik, Fahd Al-Najjan, Saleh Al-Abdullah Al-Malik, Saleh Al-Awad, Ali Saleh Al-Dilaan, Abdullah Al-Kadri, Nasser Abdulrahman Al-Duwian, and others. A large booklet or a special section should be dedicated to translate and include selections of their productions. I hope this will be done soon to complete the system of poets from the province in both Modern Standard Arabic and Nabati.
