ETRANGO revives the name of a historic J.F. Schwarzlose fragrance originally released in 1929 and described at the time as a “fantasy perfume.” The modern creation interprets the concept through Berlin itself — a constantly changing city of contrasts, where elegance, strangeness, darkness and sensuality coexist.

Created by perfumer Véronique Nyberg, the modern ETRANGO was launched in 2023. Specialist sources describe it as Spicy, Floral, Woody and Oriental, while J.F. Schwarzlose officially characterises it as Spicy, Floral and Sweet.

Top Notes

The fragrance opens with Bergamot, Caraway and Saffron.

Bergamot provides sparkling citrus brightness, while caraway brings aromatic, warm and slightly green spice. Saffron introduces a dry, subtly leathery and mysterious dimension.

Heart Notes

The heart reveals Jasmine, Damask Rose and Carnation.

Damask rose forms the central floral signature with rich elegance, while jasmine adds sensual white-floral softness. Carnation contributes a spicy-floral quality that connects the rose heart with the aromatic opening.

Base Notes

The composition settles over Patchouli, Oakmoss and Cypriol.

Patchouli provides earthy woody depth, while oakmoss creates a dark green, mossy character. Cypriol, also known as Nagarmotha, introduces dry, earthy and subtly smoky facets.
