Product description

Basil plant Ocimum basilicum aromatic fragrant shrub, height reaches about one meter, its flowers are in cluster inflorescences. The plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family, cultivated for decorative purposes and for its distinctive fragrant smell. It has other medicinal uses and is characterized by its tolerance to hot weather, making it suitable for cultivation in desert and dry areas. This basil is considered the ordinary basil that is not edible, as edible basil differs in color, shape, and leaf thickness. Edible basil has light, non-thick leaves that tend to be light green, while regular basil has dark color. Edible basil leaves are soft, whereas regular basil leaves are rough and elongated, while edible basil tends to be rounded. Care for the basil plant: Prune the tips of the long branches of the newly planted plant to stimulate root growth, and also cut off the flowers that appear to encourage vegetative growth (branches and leaves). Clean the soil from weeds, fertilize up to three times a year. Watering is twice daily in summer and once every two days in winter; the number of watering times depends on soil moisture, as it must remain moist.
