Product description
This climbing shrub is fast-growing, native to West Africa, beautiful, easy to care for, suitable for planting in shaded areas in Riyadh with appropriate lighting for its growth. Its leaves are oval, 15 cm long, in opposite pairs. The flowers are red, clustered in inflorescences, 2 cm in length, and vary in color. The flowers appear at the beginning of winter and continue until the start of summer, although they are present throughout the year. It prefers acidic sandy soil but grows in all types of soil. It resists drought once established but needs extra watering in summer. It grows climbing up to 5 meters in height with a spread of 3 meters, growing quickly from root suckers. It needs a support to climb on, but it can also grow without support and form ground cover. It propagates by seeds, cuttings, or dividing the root into easy-to-prune parts. It responds well to shaping and can be cut back to the base. It is a tropical plant. Frost kills it, so it is not suitable for unprotected locations. It also needs shade from cold and hot winds.
