“I love oud,” says Hussein Baba, owner of Azman, a unique fragrance house.

“I have worked in the oud field for many years and have always been a huge fan of what perfume houses create with this wonderful and amazing material.”

There are many ways to describe risk, but none of these descriptions will be truly definitive.

“Two years ago, I had a dream of creating an oud scent at the end of the game. Despite the countless creations, I can still imagine a blend that pays tribute to the exquisite oud oil.”

According to Hussein, the journey of creating the fragrance was not easy. The concept profile and execution process had to have a lot of time dedicated to creating a matrix of oud and another of oriental floral musk with a touch of earthiness and leather.

“I commissioned one of the world's greatest contemporary noses, Antonio Gardoni, to create these two matrices and the result was the perfect twin of the abstract mix I had in mind.”

Risk was conceived as the "crown of fire," as in the pinnacle of desire and passion. The name is inspired by the great endeavors in life that are achieved through vision, perseverance, apathy, and a generous margin of risk.

The Oud matrix was created by blending six types of Oud ranging from old to new, while the Floral/Musk matrix was created with the immortal yellow flower - helichrysum, tuberose absolute, iris and a few others.

If you approach this scent with the typical concept of a pyramid in mind, you're in danger. Don't think anything of it! There's a citric break created with yuzu lemon and bergamot. The rest is a magical rollercoaster of alternating currents of rising notes.

“I wanted to move away from the typical pyramid journey. I imagined a scent with ‘cycles of intertwined auras’ – a journey of oud and oriental musk conducted with the noblest notes.”
