Product description

🇪🇹 Ethiopia - Rorecho — 250g

Rorecho is an Ethiopian crop processed anaerobically, and that alone sets it apart: most of what arrives from Ethiopia is natural or washed, and the sealed fermentation here takes the heirloom varieties somewhere else. Peach opens the cup with a ripe natural sweetness that sets up the experience, mandarin follows with a clean brightness closer to citrus peel than to juice, and green apple gives the cup a crisp acidity that cuts the sweetness at the right moment and leaves it refreshing. The texture is silky and the layers step quietly toward a clean finish. This trio — peach, mandarin, green apple — reads more like a fruit plate than a cup of coffee, and is among the clearest examples of what anaerobic processing does when it is managed precisely. Anaerobic fermentation is relatively new in Ethiopia, where the infrastructure was built around open-air drying — which makes this crop a marker of a regional shift. This coffee suits brewing with V60 or espresso, where its details come through clearly and give a balanced experience in either method. One of the most distinctive of our Ethiopian coffees this season, seen at its best among our drip coffee beans.
