The scholars of virtue have praised its virtue, and eminent scholars, past and present, have served it, demonstrating some of its fine craftsmanship, good arrangement, beautiful composition, and carefully selected content. Imam an-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, was a blessed man, blessed by Allah in his time as well as in his writings. All his works were sealed with the stamp of acceptance, which is why they gained remarkable popularity and benefit everywhere and at all times. "Al-Riyad As-Salihin" is a book authored by Imam an-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, concerning the authentic Hadiths; it is a sincere advice to the nation, cooperation in righteousness, a guide to goodness, collecting the authentic Hadiths that lead their bearer to Paradise, and a means of refining outward and inward manners, encompassing encouragement and warning, refining morals, and soothing hearts. What increased people's interest in it was the method and plan the author set for this book, as he committed only to mention authentic Hadiths from the Sunnah, beginning chapters with noble Quranic verses, and alerting to what needs correction or clarification of hidden meanings. Dar Al-Minhaj has long aspired to print it, but they did not want to print it haphazardly; rather, a luxurious edition worthy of the stature of this book and its author. Thanks be to Allah, the Almighty, who permitted this, so this luxurious edition was produced, distinguished and unique as the only edition relying on two manuscripts transferred from an original opposite a copy closer to Imam an-Nawawi’s student and fatwa writer, the scholar Ibn Al-Attar, may Allah have mercy on him, which he read on its author, Imam an-Nawawi, in addition to other valuable manuscripts full of benefits. To maximize benefit, the house has prepared useful annotations and comments that are indispensable, including the explanation by Ibn Al-‘Anan As-Siddiqi, may Allah have mercy on him, with references to the sources of Imam an-Nawawi’s sayings as much as possible.
