Simplified interpretation, printed by the King Fahd Complex Size: 28*20 cm Summary: Enlarged and revised edition There was a pressing need in this era to develop a concise interpretation that considers the principles and sources of tafsir (interpretation) based on the methodology of the righteous predecessors, to ensure its clarification in a way that reassures and trusts the hearts. It aims to present the tafsir in a brief, easy phrase that clarifies the meanings of the Quran, its objectives, and reveals the connotations of words and their structures, which are often absent from the minds and understanding of the general people. For the initial version, a select group of renowned scholars of tafsir, known for their knowledge and competence, were chosen within certain guidelines, including: First, interpreting the verses according to the creed of the righteous predecessors. Second, prioritizing authentic narrations over other interpretations. Third, limiting narration to the correct or most likely sayings. Fourth, highlighting the Quranic guidance and the objectives of Sharia through the tafsir. Fifth, ensuring the wording is concise and easy, with explanations of unfamiliar words during the tafsir. Sixth, the interpreter should stick to the meaning equivalent to the verse and avoid adding extra meanings from other verses unless necessary for clarification. Seventh, presenting the meaning of the verse directly without unnecessary narration, unless compelled. Eighth, the tafsir should follow the narration of Hafs from Asim. Ninth, avoiding mention of different readings, grammar, morphology, syntax, or rhetoric issues. Tenth, interpreting each verse separately, possibly combining the meanings of two or more related verses; the words of the Quran are not repeated unless necessary. The beginning of each verse’s tafsir states its number. Eleven, the tafsir should be within the scope of the margins of the Madinah Mushaf. Twelve, the interpreter should consider that this tafsir will be translated into various languages and avoid mentioning terms that are difficult to translate.
