The feelings blog, Shadows of Dreams Author: Sarah Ayat Yahya Publisher: Center for Arab Literature The heroine, Arinas, is an ordinary girl who suddenly discovers that she has the ability to enter others' dreams. She lives with her grandmother, who was one of the few survivors of the ancient Amazigh tribe. The grandmother conveys to Arinas an ancient wisdom: "Write down every dream you enter, or you will be plagued with endless obsessions and a disaster will happen." The grandmother explains that writing prevents obsessions and maintains the balance of the dream world. Arinas discovers that there is a dark force threatening to destroy the balance of dreams and flood the world with chaos of nightmares. That frightening nightmare that haunted her coincides with this, and for some reason, Arinas decides not to write down this nightmare. What will happen to her, I wonder, especially when an unknown creature forms because of this and begins killing its victims?
