Making pumpkin candles

An evening workshop will be held every Thursday in October, where participants will create pumpkin candles inside pumpkins—or in glass cups using pumpkin molds—at the Mian Art Studio in Medina. The two-hour workshop, from 9:00 to 11:00 PM, is open to women and girls aged 12 and above, as part of the studio's fall program.

What happens in a pumpkin candle making workshop?

The workshop begins with preparing the wax and securing the wick, then pouring it into pumpkin-shaped molds, followed by removing the wax from the molds and finishing. The molds and materials are ready on the table, giving participants ample time to practice. Each step is supervised by the workshop instructor, and the workshop is suitable for beginners with no prior candle-making experience. The number of participants in each workshop is limited to ensure each participant receives sufficient time with the instructor. The candles each participant makes are their own, for use at home or as gifts.

Autumn workshops at the Mian Studio in Medina

October at the studio offers a full autumn-themed program, featuring pumpkins, painting, and pottery. The final evening session is a candle workshop on Thursday, held in a live studio with actual work and materials on the tables. Pumpkin candles complement autumn decorations at home and make a perfect gift for the season.
