فن الكينوسايجا بالسعودي

Product description

Kinosaiga is a Japanese art form where paintings are created using fabric scraps instead of paint. At Mian Studio in Medina, we present the technique with a Saudi twist: the same Japanese style, but with designs and fabrics inspired by local patterns and colors.

What happens in the Kinosaiga workshop?

The workshop begins with a corkboard covered with a design, which the participant then etches with thin lines. Next, the participants select fabrics and colors, cut out the pieces, and insert their edges into the etched lines using a thin tool, piece by piece, until the design is complete as a finished canvas. The technique relies on precision and patience and is suitable for first-timers. The workshop is supervised by an instructor and the studio team throughout the two-hour session.

Kenosaiga in Saudi Arabia, in Medina

The designs are inspired by Saudi identity, resulting in a piece that is both technically Japanese and visually Saudi, suitable for display at home or as a gift. The workshop is held every Tuesday and is open to both genders aged 10 and above.
