Epson Salt Epson Salt salts magnesium sulfate mineral beneficial with many benefits. Thanks to its salty properties, it can be absorbed through the skin, and is used to treat colic and hoof abscesses. It can also be used intravenously to treat arrhythmia cases in horses. Magnesium sulfate is used intravenously to treat ventricular tachycardia, and in managing ventricular arrhythmias unresponsive to other anti-arrhythmic medications. It is used in foals to treat birth asphyxia syndrome.
