The book covers the author's journeys in several countries and cities, his memories, and impressions about them, including details, components, customs, traditions, occasions, and architectural arts, some ancient and some modern. The book contains information and colored images about the most important tourist attractions in "Kuwait," "Andorra," "Thailand," "Cape Town," "Lusaka," "Zimbabwe," "San Marino," "Lesotho," "Myanmar," "Cairo," and other countries that formed in the book a beautiful mosaic painting in colors that entices the reader to read about them and visit them. The author, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Dughayri, introduced his book "Mosaic of the Cities" with an introduction in which he says: "The longing for the exciting new experience, and the need for renewal and the joy of hunting knowledge and satisfying the mind and soul, is what drives me to travel. In the universe, there are corners I haven't visited yet, and peoples I haven't gotten to know their colors, shapes, and history that carries their present. Therefore, when I travel, all my senses are disabled, and my mind doesn't work; I remain only in a state of constant amazement. The most beautiful thing about travel is amazement, and the most beautiful thing about amazement is that it comes without expectation or permission. I am content with the amazement and capturing what I see of faces, things, feelings, actions, and words. When I return, I try to gather these scenes and show them, and attempt to organize their details as if these scenes are scattered within the folds of memory, then write them in this book as a literary text. It blends historical facts with the features of the geography of those cities that tempted me to visit them. The cities on the travel map are like a mosaic, gathering the beauty of metals, glass, and colors, with pieces of all sizes arranged in a systematic and engineered way. These cities are also tempting and alluring, especially the unique ones, proud of themselves, celebrating their people and heritage without imitating others or alienating from their past. Every city in this book resembles itself, beautiful in its uniqueness and different in its mood. Cities have moods and spirits like humans, where you find one with a lively spirit, and another generous. A city you love at first sight, and another you decide to boycott and not cross over. If someone wants to travel to them and asks me which city I suggest for visiting, I sigh from longing and answer: Every vein in my body is inhabited by a city, and there are cities you cannot help but fall in love with, as if they are waiting for hearts to inhabit them. You must be sure of your heart's compass before the airport officer confirms the validity of your residence visa.
