"People were one nation and Allah sent the prophets as bearers of good news and warners." (Al-Baqarah: 213) This is how the state of people began, a single nation in ignorance, materialism, disbelief, and worship of immediate pleasure. They believe only in what falls within their senses, and their desires do not go beyond the realm of appetite and instincts. Then the books and messengers came down, and people divided into believers and disbelievers, into faith and disbelief, and they differed into sects and groups. This is how history narrates to us from Adam to Noah, to Abraham, to Jacob, to Isaac, to Ishmael, to Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, the seal of the prophets, peace be upon him. "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to send] blessings upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace."
