The test

A novel that fades into the depths of the limits of human self, passion, betrayal, and forgiveness between words and events. We follow in it the threads of the story of Stephen Gillard, the young lawyer who sold an emotional treasure written for him by novelist Margaret Oppen with her soul's ink, to achieve his dream of marrying the girl who captured his heart. Stephen faces a difficult moral choice, but he takes the step he believes is right, then enters a maze of mirrors that stripped him. The human threads intertwine with his attempts to reassemble his fragmented self, seeking in others' eyes forgiveness, tranquility, and acceptance — the "test" of the great writer Edith Warten. It is not just a literary narrative, but a piece of art embodying humanity in all its beauty and complexities, and a deep story playing on the strings of the human soul with infinite mastery. A novel bearing an literary legacy that breathes beauty and truth to the point of pain. Author: Edith Warten Publisher: Sidra Publishing and Distribution Number of pages: 120
