Product description

As the ages pass and the years go by, the person changes and develops, and with him the word evolves, and words become extinct, to be replaced by other words that suit the era and the generation. The old words become forgotten, so generations follow one after the other, and those old words become unknown to the new generation. And thus is life, in the east and west of the earth, words become extinct and are replaced by others. And for the importance of preserving the colloquial dialect, which was used by the fathers and grandfathers, especially since some of it has become extinct, and some of it is on the verge of extinction. Some words pass to the new generation, and they do not know their meaning. Many times we face questions about the meaning of some words. Therefore, we tried in this book to preserve what we could gather of old words and their meanings, without committing to researching their linguistic source in dictionaries, and without tracing them back to their linguistic origin. We have tried in this book to follow a simple approach without any complications. We included the word and its common meaning among the people of the desert specifically, and we cited some poet’s verses for some words that need further explanation or clarification of their meaning.
