The mystery of death by Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud ... "In the moment of love, something in us opens, not the body but what is more, the entire gateway of reality opens wide, so truths, beautiful meanings, and the feelings contained by the lovers come into contact. Harmony occurs from this contact between ideas, meanings, and delicate sensations... and both imagine in a moment that they are one. The last mask of reality falls... selfishness that separates them melts away, and they become one interest and one idea... but it is a fleeting moment because the flat reality falls again between the lovers, and then the worry isolates each from the other... the worry of time and the clock that is ticking, the appointment that has ended, and the time that has forced each to return to his work, and the place that isolates each in a country, and the body that contains each in an independent being of flesh and blood, and the society that includes both and demands commitments and duties, and the past that enters as a heavy shadow partner in every moment... We do not live alone, but there are others, all of whom compete for our freedom, our meal, and our lives. In this crowd, we get lost, and reality erases our dreams, taking us with it into a whirlpool of foolish repetition of eating, drinking, and sleeping, only to wake up again and again in it. Our lives pass in a boring routine where we never meet ourselves, never taste love, and do not know it. Desire is something other than love; it is much less than love. It is a desire of the species, not the individual. It is a relationship between two natures, not between two persons. It is a relationship between masculinity and femininity... and the individual does not reveal himself but reveals his type and masculinity. Love does not contain desire, but desire does not contain love. With love, you only reveal that you are a man, but you also reveal that you are so-and-so and that you have chosen so-and-so specifically, and you cannot replace her with another. The phrase 'I love you' is the deepest and most beautiful phrase in a man's life because it is not just a word but a window through which he looks at his truth and secret. And the love that is deeper than all love is only ignited in the heart by Sufism and religious feeling. Because religion is what returns man to the spring from which he originated and takes the fallen human in time and place to lift him to the heavens of eternity. And nothing elevates him to these heavens except love, which causes the worshiper to perish of himself and the world, longing for his Creator."
