Book name: دعاء الكروان Author name: طه حسين Number of pages: 136 pages Category: Social novels Publication date: 2024 Publisher: ديوان للنشر Brief about the content of the book: But your voice, O dear bird, reaches me so that it pulls me away from this deep silence, so I jump frightened and trembling, and he jumps frightened and trembling, then security and calm return to us, as for me, two wandering tears fall on my cheeks, and as for him, he says while leaning on the table, دعاء الكروان! Do you see him returning this echo when Hanadi was struck down in that vast space!! The echoes of the call of the cuckoo still resonate on the pages of طه حسين despite the passage of time, for his cuckoo, through which he wrote this expressive human story about the state of Egyptian society at that time, that cuckoo was a symbol of a woman crying out her sorrows across the horizon, with no responder but silence and echo and silence.
