Product description

The book "Cooperatives and Development Issues" is based primarily on a practical study of several models of cooperative ownership, in which the author himself, founder of the National Initiative to Support Cooperatives in Egypt, contributed to establishing 12 companies owned by small farmers and producers, managed according to the cooperative model and democratically. Therefore, the book is an intellectual expression of the cooperative ownership project as a model proposed by the author in opposition to the pattern of private ownership and the crises it creates periodically, as well as in opposition to the results of capitalist economic globalization and its effects on the poorest local communities. The pursuit of development and justice is considered the main driving force behind the support initiative for cooperatives, which this book resulted from both practically and theoretically following. And that justice constitutes one of the strong fundamental bases that guarantee the development of effective demand as a driver of investment, leading to the employment of new workers who convert most of their income into effective demand, stimulating new investments in an endless cycle called the investment multiplier, which forms the core of any cycle of growth and economic prosperity. It also forms a solid foundation for the continuity and sustainability of growth. Moreover, justice in income distribution is a fundamental pillar of any social peace built on consensus rather than on repression and tyranny. Author: Mohamed Abdel Hakim Number of pages: 200
