Product description

The novel "Doctor Garen" (2021) is one of the most important postmodern works in Russia and the world, where times and morals are blended. Critics in Russia studied and analyzed it, and their opinions differed. Several years ago, in the novel "The Snowstorm" (2010), the snowstorm of Doctor Garen prevented access to the village of Dolgoye and vaccinated its inhabitants against the Bolivian virus that turns people into zombies. Miraculously, Doctor Garen did not freeze to death in the endless snowy steppes in order to return to a post-apocalyptic world, where his patients would become some of the most mocking and helpless creatures on Earth, who in the past were leaders of great nations. This world, where clocks are carved from stone and iPhone devices from wood, represents an encyclopedia about Sorokin's world of pessimism, which confidently gives the future the features of a backward past. The novel "Doctor Garen" reveals the imaginary structure of Russia in the future, divided into many independent parts fighting among themselves. The author imagined different nationalities with their cultures and ways of life, and built a picture of a "not bright" future. Imagination and excellent narration always help the author find more ways to solve the problems of the heroes.
