The events of the novel take place in two areas of Khartoum city, in the crowded area and in the area suffering from extreme poverty. It is also characterized by a cunning narration that shakes the readers' confidence in the truth of what the narrator tells them, plunging them into worlds of mental hospitals and ambiguous relationships between imagination and reality.
