Brian Turner believes that Orientalism has shown many symptoms of internal crises, even collapse, since World War II (1937-1945 AD), but the alternative was not easy to find; because Orientalism still retains ideological and institutional support, and it has self-possessing components that support its existence. Many attempts have been made to rebuild its scientific field, ensuring the continuation of its effectiveness and achieving its goals. This book seeks to interrogate the available sources to form a clear picture of this attempt that aims to rebuild the scientific and methodological field in Orientalism, which has been called in the book (New Orientalism) or renewed Orientalism. This new publication of the book comes after about six years from the first publication, and it is an expanded and revised edition, as the author rewrote the study from scratch, adding many additions that in total amount to nearly double the material of the first edition, while maintaining the overall structure of the book. Thus, this edition supersedes the previous one.
