Product description
The hero of "The Thresholds of Joy" is a man over fifty years old, contemplating his past life, conversing with himself and asking his lifelong friend and peer in age: Why does joy, whenever it comes close to us, stay away? His friend replies: Standing on the thresholds of joy is better than entering into joy itself; because if you enter it, it will kill you and destroy you. Thus, through a warm and exciting narration, the reader will accompany this fifty-year-old man on his journey in search of joy. And the narrator - through the chapters of the novel, each beginning with two questions starting with how and why? - wonders about matters he knows he will not find answers to; because losing joy or lacking it may happen once or twice in society and then pass, but in our country, whenever joy comes across us, it is lost and does not return, and we always have to search for it anew each time!
