I want a moment of emotion .. a moment of love .. a moment of amazement .. a moment of knowledge .. a moment that makes my life meaningful .. My life for earning a living has no meaning, because it is just continuation. This is the introduction of the book, in which the author presents a summary of his seven stories, and his multiple characters, who seem to be one person woven from the environment of the fifties, with multiple facets. The characters, despite their differences, gather around that rejecting, resentful view of their lives, and longing for a better life far from mere continuation as the author calls it. The characters especially lack rebellion and action, and we notice that the events of the stories seem like a reaction to a fate written thousands of years ago, with no hope of trying to change.
