Product description

Dear reader, here you will accompany me on a tour through the cemeteries of Cairo, and you will see treasures and heritage some of which have unfortunately disappeared. Therefore, I have endeavored to publish this book so that these treasures do not remain hidden from many of the children of my homeland; it documents some of Egypt's men who lived on its land before us, and some members of the Muhammad Ali Pasha family through their graves and tombstones. The tombstone represents the personal ID of the deceased, and through it we learn a lot about the life before this deceased. From the tombstone, we learn the name of the deceased, their date of birth and death, the position they held during their life, where they were born, where they lived, when and where they passed away to the mercy of their Lord. Sometimes, we can also learn the cause of death and the will they left after their passing. If this tombstone is lost or destroyed, the last memory of this deceased is erased, and thus a potentially important part of this nation's history, which we cherish, is lost. This book also presents some family ties and connections, which may help us understand some facts and historical events in modern Egyptian history, and may contribute to rediscovering and understanding some historical events.
