Burgundy in suede gains a depth it does not have in smooth leather. The short nap holds part of the light, so the dark red reads richer and less glossy. The Summer Walk backless mule in burgundy. Other colours sit in Loro Piana.
Dark red in an everyday shoe
Most people who want a non-neutral colour hesitate, assuming it will be restrictive. Deep burgundy resolves that, because it approaches brown and black in function while remaining coloured in appearance.
It sits beside navy, cream, beige and denim, which covers most of what actually gets worn.

What we noticed on inspection
The burgundy graduates clearly with the direction of the nap, reading lighter one way and deeper the other, and that is what gives it its richness. We noticed the two metal charms are silver rather than gold, a choice that cools the composition and keeps the red from reading warmer than it should. Sizing runs true. The Swagyo WhatsApp concierge settles the size before ordering.
What it works with
With cream, beige, navy and jeans. It suits men and women alike. Other colours sit in Loro Piana, or sandals and flats for open options.
Frequently asked questions
Does burgundy limit styling
No, it works with every neutral and with navy and olive, and only stops at bright red.
Is it for men or women
For both. The last is neutral and the sizing unified.
Does it slip off at the back
No, because the closed toe holds the foot from the front.
How do I clean suede
A soft suede brush in one direction and an eraser for marks. No water.
