Product description

Insulin syringes from BD Micro-Fine Plus by BD have a 1 ml capacity and a short 6 mm needle of 0.25 mm diameter (31G), for drawing insulin from a vial and injecting subcutaneously. Supplied as a pack of 10 syringes.

Key Features

  • A 6 mm long, 0.25 mm diameter (31G) needle, as printed on the pack, suitable for subcutaneous injection.
  • A 1 ml capacity with printed barrel graduations for reading the dose.
  • The needle is fixed to the syringe, so no separate needle needs fitting.
  • Sterile syringes for single use only.
  • Produced by BD (Becton Dickinson), a recognised company in insulin injection supplies.

How to Use

  • Wash hands, then wipe the insulin vial stopper with alcohol-moistened cotton.
  • Draw air equal to the dose, inject it into the vial, invert the vial and draw your prescribed dose.
  • Remove air bubbles, then inject subcutaneously at the site specified by your doctor or diabetes education team, regularly rotating injection sites.

Who Is It For?

For people with diabetes using vial insulin under prescription and medical supervision, and caregivers giving injections to relatives.

Precautions

  • Make sure syringe graduations match your prescribed insulin concentration, such as U-100. Ask a pharmacist if unsure.
  • Do not reuse or share the syringe.
  • Dispose of used syringes in a rigid, closed container out of children's reach.
  • Do not use if the wrapper is open or damaged.
  • Do not change the insulin dose without consulting a doctor.
