Pimecrolimus belongs to a class of drugs known as topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCIs). The specific medical uses of the 1% cream: used topically (on the skin) to treat adults and children aged two years and above with a healthy immune system who suffer from mild to moderate eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, a condition that makes your skin itchy and red. How to use the 1% cream: always be sure to take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. Doses can be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions. If you take more than you should of the medicine, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the missed dose.
