The cafe and other Italian stories

Book name: Al-Kaf and other Italian stories Author: Dino Buzzati Publisher: Khutut wa Zilal Book classification: Novel Number of pages: 140 About the book: Dino Buzzati (1906–1972) occupies a distinguished and special position in contemporary Italian literature: he is a novelist, storyteller, playwright, poet, brilliant journalist, and painter. Dino Buzzati wrote his literary works during a period when Italian literature was dominated by the new realism, but he did not follow this trend; instead, he adopted the 'fantastic' approach to express philosophical and historical issues that occupied Italy in the 1930s during the rise of fascism. He invested all his potential and forms, expressing what Neila Gianetto called (the courage of imagination).
