About the book: Many are the books that have been published about André Breton, surrealism, its history, and activities, of course, which have not stopped until today, as they seem to continue, in one way or another, presenting their proposals and perspectives on various things. In any case, the aim of this word is not to revisit, academically, the role of the surrealist movement, neither in the past nor in the present, but it is a passing note to present these messages, which were directed to Breton from two people who played a major role in his literary and artistic orientations and choices, namely Pierre Reverdy and Jacques Vaché.
And the question that must be asked: how did Cubism influence Reverdy's poetry? And by what means?
First, there are the ways that artists rejected, those ways they said "strike the soul." In their collages, they never used colors or brushes, but instead of this material, they used the most modest and everyday elements of reality: newspaper paper, matchboxes, letter envelopes. In other words, they used reality itself. Reverdy respected these artists who had "a sense of reality to the marrow." Therefore, he wished to steal from them this sense of freshness as well as this sense of poverty.
