Naguib Mahfouz Publishing house: Al-Shorouk Number of pages: 124 Book genre: Novel Brief about the book: And witnessed Ghazal Café a gathering of Pashas and Beys sitting with the teacher Biyomi Al-Fawal, relaxed, chatting. And the teacher listens to them and takes their money, but on election day, he and his companions went to the police stations to support the votes of Saad Zaghloul's candidates. And since that time, he calls those Pashas and Beys "Kroodiyat" because he used to boast of his connections with them, often saying during his talk: "The Pasha told me such and such, and I told the Pasha such and such." Those were days gone by.
