Book name: The Closest Author: Mario Angel Kentiro Publisher: Al-Rafidain for Printing and Publishing Book category: Novel Number of pages: 79 About the book: "With his slip, the light coming from the torch flame stirred a faint reflection from the smooth darkness of the lake, a cold light, and silence continued, and we approached the center where the deep depths of the lake. This emitted light became more and more apparent as a face for an angel, and whatever it appeared vague to those on the boat, it cast a luminous membrane over the shallow lake marshes, and thus kept us away from the evil and terrifying Leviathans that escaped their captivity and pushed toward us the possibility contained in the shadows, the possibility that we might be swallowed." Mario Angel Kentiro's novel is an astonishing novel. It is written immersed in an atmosphere of magic, which makes it create a parallel world of wonder and profound meaning. It is also a kind of storytelling that is pure poetry in the true sense, relying on captivating fragmentation in narration, on soaring above the linear logic of everyday life, and on the harmony of multiple sound echoes, which, in greatly enhancing its musical impact, certainly make it difficult to translate.
