Book name: Al-Hasil min Al-Mahsool fi Usool Al-Fiqh
Author: Imam Al-Armouy
Summary: If Imam Al-Armouy had no other writings except the book Al-Hasil, that would be a pride, as it is one of the books whose mention and study have been widespread among people. It is one of the important books of Usul (Islamic jurisprudence principles) that contains everything a student of the science of Usul needs, from research and issues of Usul. Its author, Taj al-Din Al-Armouy, arranged it as follows: discussion of the introductions, discussion of languages, discussion of commands and prohibitions, discussion of general and specific, discussion of actions, discussion of abrogating and abrogated, discussion of consensus.
The book was compiled into two sections: an academic section and an investigative section. The academic section consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The researcher discussed in the introduction the era of Taj al-Din Al-Armouy (7th Islamic century) from political, social, and scientific perspectives.
The first chapter dealt with the definition of Al-Armouy and his scientific life. The second chapter was dedicated to discussing Al-Armouy's teachers, peers, students, companions, and his date of death.
The third chapter addressed Al-Armouy's works and writings, and in the conclusion, a number of important Usul issues were mentioned, in which Imam Al-Armouy chose some Usul opinions that contradicted his teacher, Imam Fakhr al-Din Al-Razi, the author of Al-Mahsool, and also compared these with the opinions of other Usul imams such as Al-Qadi Al-Baidawi, the author of Al-Minhaj, among others.
The investigative section involved correcting and verifying the text of the book Al-Hasil, presenting it in a well-organized format that facilitates understanding of its meanings, entertains the reader, and renews its goals and aims. This included extracting the evidences within it, linking them to the books they are found in, and defining the figures, groups, and places mentioned, as well as relating its scientific issues to the books of Usul and Fiqh, explaining strange or problematic terms, and preparing indexes of sources and references used in study and verification, along with detailed indexes of the topics covered in both the academic and investigative sections.
