Product description

This is a translation of one of the reference works conducted during a period of rest and critique of New Testament texts, for what its author presented of scientific knowledge with what corresponds to Christian texts and their transmission and transformation over time, and what it revealed of the overlap between history, theology, and social practice in the production of religious texts. In this context, the book addresses thorny issues – such as multiple direct readings of the books and the limits of textual infallibility – in a sober and calm manner, far from a simple polemical framework, which contributes to establishing a culture of critical scientific research in the field. The importance of this book does not stem from it being a specialized academic artistic presentation of issues related to copies and manuscripts, but from the necessity of attempting to re-contextualize the emerging text within its historical context, as a unique product of human actors, cultural practices, and intellectual conflicts, rather than just a rigid doctrinal vessel. This translation began a cognitive and methodological horizon that has remained limited in presence within Arab culture, a horizon of historical study of texts freely, as the Arab library, despite its vastness, still clearly suffers from a lack of references that work on new approaches from a critical perspective, dividing between textual criticism, full studies, and complete analysis of theological discourse, away from didactic or ideological interpretation. This translation also provides the Arab reader with a methodological definition of New Testament textual criticism, as well as analytical tools that can be beneficial in broad fields, including the history of religions and textual studies.
